The people behind the imprint

Built from a life
of translation.

Between software and teaching, private memory and public systems, Queens and everywhere the work travels.

JB

Founder / Dharmic Data

Jai Bhagat

Jai moved through investment management and technology sales before learning to code, then turned that transition into a practice of teaching other people how to make difficult systems legible.

Across more than a decade in software and teaching—including developer education—his work has kept returning to the same question: how do you turn information into a next move a real person can use?

Dharmic Data is the answer in progress. DATA is its cultural imprint: a place where maps, archives, software, and textiles can carry the same evidence-led method.

Advisor / DATA

Imtiaz

Imtiaz advises DATA as the imprint develops—helping the work hold onto context, restraint, and accountability while it moves from a private reference to a public object.

The role is intentionally practical: ask what the artifact communicates, what it leaves out, and whether the next edition earns its place.
